My Story
I was born in a small Ukrainian village and, as a child, my family and I moved to Portugal looking for the stability that Ukraine could not guarantee. Years later I packed my bags, moved to NYC (USA) and changed my life. I realized jewelry can be powerful and inspiring, when we care about where it comes from and where it’s going. Still, it was hard for me to pick the right piece of jewelry, mainly because I viewed it as something that was more than just an accessory. I wanted to see a special meaning within that piece. I wanted to see its background and I wanted it to inspire me in some way. On the other hand, I’ve wanted to inspire women my whole life. It always hurt me to see a woman diminish herself in order to be liked and accepted. Being less ambitious, less successful, less demanding of recognition, and less of herself. I’ve always believed that women are powerful and that we make brave choices that define our unique lives. That being said, Wonther was born to be part of a powerful, unique and brave journey. I also believe in being better, and evolving, so over time, I’ve realized that it’s not just about women feeling less, it’s about anyone's right to feel included and seen. We cannot be feminists if we don't acknowledge inclusivity, so Wonther's jewelry is made for everyone, no matter the ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation. The Founder,
WE BELIEVE...We believe in designing pieces with a unique character, made for all genders. |
